Life got a little better last night.
After having a fantastic dinner (I had as much sushi as I could possibly eat and three glasses of bourbon from the open bar) our corporate client had Universal Orlando shut down just for us. There were no lines for the rides, another open bar and a dessert bar. I rode The Hulk roller coaster four times and Spiderman five times. I felt like a kid.
This morning I discovered that there really is something more sleep-inducing than discussions about corporate financial auditing. After an extremely late night, we were treated to a power-point from the corporate IT guy. We did get to see a video about cutting-edge retail technology. It was an animated piece from a German company that looked just like the Dire Straits “Money For Nothing” video from 1985. I could have made a better animation with my old Video Toaster (which is currently decorating a shelf in my bedroom closet). Of course it would take a year to render.
My final seminar before strike is at noon. I am told that the speaker has climbed Mt. Everest and has lots of photos. Should be pretty cool. I am hoping that we can be done with our strike in time to meet up with a friend of Mr. Samstag to get a local’s tour of the area.
Yeah, I’m being optimistic.
How unlike me.
