Yesterday was a big day for Juno (no, not my puppy with the same name) at the Independent Spirit Awards. Juno picked up top prize for Best Feature, Ellen Page landed the Best Female Lead and Diablo Cody grabbed Best First Screenplay.
Some people are talking about Juno being the dark horse for Best Picture tonight at that other awards show. I wouldn’t hold your breath on that one, though I do hope they walk away with at least a couple of little golden guys…
The full list of the winners was nicely complied by FirstShowing.net, so don’t give me credit–I’m just too lazy to type it myself. And the winners are… Oh yeah, and go to filmindependent.org to see the backstage press interviews. And the awards go to: BEST FEATURE BEST FIRST FEATURE BEST DIRECTOR BEST MALE LEAD BEST FEMALE LEAD BEST SUPPORTING MALE BEST SUPPORTING FEMALE BEST SCREENPLAY BEST FIRST SCREENPLAY BEST CINEMATOGRAPHY BEST DOCUMENTARY BEST FOREIGN FILM ROBERT ALTMAN AWARD
