Knoxville Overground, a nonprofit organization that advocates for startups and self-employed professionals, will host an event celebrating the community’s strengthening support for entrepreneurs, self-employed professionals and professionals in the local tech community.
The Overground Spring Gala 2009 will be held 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday on the 6th Floor of the Sunsphere at 810 Clinch Avenue.
The event is open to the public. KO members and friends of KO (including Knoxville Chamber members) receive a 20 percent discount off of the $25 general admission fee. Cash and checks will be accepted at the door.
Free hor d’oeuvres will be provided and a cash bar will be available.
Speeches will be made from local entrepreneurs including Sean Christman, President of Slamdot, Inc., a recent winner of the Young Entrepreneur Award at the Pinnacle Business Awards Gala.
Knoxville Overground manages a walk-in entrepreneur community center and coworking workspace and is currently pursuing other endeavors including the opening 35 Market Square as a 5,000-square-foot community center workspace for startups.
